Which nursing rocking chair is the best?
Congratulations in advance for your new baby!
So you want a nursing rocking chair to help lull your new baby off to sleep and to feed in? You might find that you feed your baby wherever you can get a chance once they are born, rather than retreating to where the nursing chair is, but they are incredible to help rock your baby off to sleep.
Also I have heard that using a nursing rocking chair while you are pregnant is relaxing for you both, and that if you read to your baby while in there then they will love it even more and ask to be read to in it for years to come, so you get a lot more use out of it than just with a baby who needs feeding.
We've researched the top nursing chairs you can get to help you try and find the perfect one. We have come up with one normal option, it gives you everything you need including an ottoman and doesn't cost the earth, but might not last you forever. Then we have a premium option which is top quality but a lot more expensive, and finally we have a traditional rocking chair, because some people prefer the simplicity of a traditional wooden rocker to the more complex gliders that seem to be popular as nursing chairs nowadays.
So have a look at the 3 options below and see if any of them look like what you want for your nursing rocking chair:

This is the best value nursing rocking chair we found, you get both the chair and an ottoman for just $125 from Amazon.com (that is with the 37% discount they have at the time of writing) which is amazing value!
It uses soft chenille fabric to give you real comfort, it is all made of wood to give it that lovely traditional look, and you get a pocket in the arm as well to keep some reading material in for either you or your baby!
The reviews for it are good with 87% of people giving it 4 stars or above on Amazon, although some people find the bottom cusion a bit uncomfortable after sitting in it for long periods, so you might want to put a cushion on top of or under it for extra padding.
But for the price this is a fantastic buy as most others are $200+

This is at the other end of the spectrum to the Stork Craft chair above, the Dutailier Ultramotion is all about quality. You get super high quality craftsmanship and gliding motion that will last you for years, as well as big and comfy cushions.
But you do have to pay for it, even without an ottoman this comes to over $500, but it has 2 fantastic 5 star reviews and Dutailier are known for making high quality nursing chairs, so if you are budgeting this much for your chair then you know you are in safe hands with this one.
You also get the ability to adjust its position to make it as comfortable as possible, and to recline it too, which makes feeding a lot easier, something the Stork Craft chair doesn't allow.

I wasn't too sure whether to include this or not, but I know that some people do prefer the traditional rocking chair, and it is a lot simpler, easier to move, and doesn't have any bearings to wear down over time. A good rocking chair can be passed down for generations!
It was tough finding a decent sized chair, most of the adult rockers are actually really small and more suited for people just over 5ft, but this is a proper adult chair which will give you plenty of room.
It comes in at about $95 at the moment, but for that you get a good quality chair that you can use outdoors or in, and as it is built of hardwood then it is going to last.
It has a 5 star review on Amazon and looks like a good choice for people who don't want a huge glider in their house.
